Linux VMware Workstation Slow Mouse/Menu Draw

Issue:
Older PCs running Linux within VMware Workstation may have slow mouse movements and GUI screen/menu draws.
Solution:
Disable “Accelerate 3D graphics” under
VM -> Settings -> Hardware -> Display -> 3D graphics

Linux virtual machine reports the error: TPVMLPD: Device type not supported
Symptoms
- Virtual machine running Linux reports the error:TPVMLPD: Device type not supported
Resolution
- Take a backup of the vmware-tools startup script using the command:cp /etc/init.d/vmware-tools /etc/init.d/vmware-tools.backup
- Open the /etc/init.d/vmware-tools script using a text editor. For example, to open the script using the vi editor, run this command:vi /etc/init.d/vmware-tools
- Comment this entry:#/usr/bin/tpvmlpd
- Run this command to restart VMware Tools:/etc/init.d/vmware-tools restart
VMware vCenter Server Upgrade

If moving a host to a new VMware vCenter Server produces this error:
Failed to install the VirtualCenter Agent service.
Login failed due to a bad username or password.
Do this at the host:
service mgmt-vmware restart
